The bolas spider does not trap insects in a web. Insead it spins a line of silk with a drop of sticky silk at the end. The spider swings the line at an insect and traps it on the sticky ball.
The black widow is one of the few spiders that can harm people. It has a red or yellow patch,shaped like an hourglass,on its abdomen.
